Derbyshire.These may well be the arm's born by Walter Spendlove "alias
Allsopp"who was a captain of the guard and chamber of Queen Elizabeth the
1st.Walter came from Derbyshire ,he is mentioned in the Duffield Mannor
Court books and when he died in 1618 he owned land and property at Heage
and also a house in Derby.Walters brother a John Spendlove of Heage is
mentioned in the muster of 1588 as a caliverman (a caliver was an early
type of gun.
